Questions people ask before they book.
I've never been to therapy before, what happens in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We will talk about what brings you to therapy, what you have been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from the process. I may ask questions about your background, relationships, and emotional well-being to better understand your story.
There is no pressure to share everything or know exactly where to begin. Therapy moves at your pace. The first session is also a chance for you to ask questions, learn more about how I work, and decide whether we feel like a good fit.
Do you offer virtual therapy sessions?
Yes. I offer virtual therapy sessions through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform for clients throughout Texas.
Online therapy allows you to receive support from the comfort of your own space while offering the same opportunity for meaningful connection, growth, and effective treatment as in-person therapy.
How does online therapy work?
Online therapy takes place through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Before your appointment, you will receive a private link to join your session.
To get the most out of therapy, I recommend choosing a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable speaking openly and can minimize interruptions. Although we may not be in the same room, online therapy offers the same opportunity for meaningful connection, support, and growth.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. I am currently in-network with several major insurance providers, including Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Aetna, Cigna, Magellan, Ambetter / Superior Health Plans, UnitedHealthcare (UHC), and Baylor Scott & White Health Plan.
If you're unsure about your coverage, feel free to reach out. I'm happy to help answer your questions before your first appointment.
What does it cost?
Current fees are listed on the "Services" page.
How long does therapy take?
How long therapy takes depends on your goals, the challenges you are facing, and the pace that feels right for you.
Some people find that a few sessions are enough to work through a specific concern, while others choose longer-term therapy for deeper personal growth or ongoing support. Together, we will regularly check in on your progress and decide what feels most helpful for you.
What happens if I need to reschedule or cancel a session?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. This allows me to offer the appointment time to another client.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice or missed appointments may be subject to the full session fee, except in cases of emergency or unforeseen circumstances.
Is therapy confidential?
That's exactly what the free consult call is for — you can hear my voice and ask what you need to ask.
What age group do you work with?
I work with children (ages 7+), adolescents, and adults, and provide therapy for individuals, couples, and families.
Do you offer sessions in Turkish?
Yes, I offer sessions in Turkish for Turkish-speaking clients.
What if I am in crisis?
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, having thoughts of harming yourself or others, or are unable to keep yourself safe, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline immediately.
Therapy is not a crisis service, and I may not be able to respond immediately to urgent messages. If you are in immediate danger, please use emergency services rather than waiting for a response.
What if I don't know what to talk about?
You don't need to come with everything figured out. Many people begin therapy simply knowing that something doesn't feel right. We can start wherever you are.
How do I know if we're a good fit?
A strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of therapy. That's why I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can get to know each other and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy?
No. You do not need a mental health diagnosis to begin therapy. Many people seek therapy to better understand themselves, improve relationships, navigate life transitions, manage stress, or receive support during difficult times.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or simply want to understand yourself better, therapy may be helpful. You don't have to wait until things become unbearable to seek support.
How often should I come to therapy?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency. As you make progress, we may transition to biweekly sessions based on your goals and needs.
How do I know if my child may benefit from therapy?
Children don't always express emotional struggles with words. Changes in mood, behavior, sleep, school performance, friendships, or emotional regulation can sometimes be signs that they need additional support. Therapy provides a safe, age-appropriate space where children can express themselves, develop healthy coping skills, and build emotional resilience.
What goals can we work on together?
Therapy can help you better understand yourself, manage anxiety and stress, improve relationships, process grief or difficult experiences, strengthen self-esteem, set healthier boundaries, navigate life transitions, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Do you offer in-person therapy?
Yes. I offer both in-person and online therapy for individuals, couples, and families. Our address is 550 South Watters Road, Suite 123, Allen, TX 75013
